About Us

Meet Joy and Ken;
the duo behind Quirky Collective.

They know the value of well made, built to last pieces. They have, after all, been married for over 40 years and in business together for the past 6. And like a rustic wooden table adorned with a vintage crystal ball, sometimes things just work.

Ken’s love of sourcing quality pieces and his keen eye for on-trend items mixed in with Joy’s skill in styling and visual merchandising makes Quirky Collective the perfect place to find yourself inspired. They specialise in one off, unique pieces for your home that you simply will not find elsewhere.

So how did it all start? Well like all good stories, it began with four kids, moving house 300km and a car break down. From garage sale to shed to shop, Quirky Collective helped replace the car and make the Mornington Peninsula home. The business is truly family run with their daughter Erin being found behind the counter working alongside her folks and a grandchild or two enjoying the cleverly placed children’s area.

It’s not just about finding something quirky and collectable though. “We both believe in sustainability and recycling as much as possible” says Joy. “Bringing a bespoke chair back to life with some sandpaper and elbow grease and then seeing a customer fall in love with it is just so satisfying. Some of our pieces inspire nostalgia but all of them spark conversation.”

Even if you’ve never stepped foot inside the unique Mornington store, chances are you have already experienced pieces from the ever-evolving range. From recycled wooden bench seats and tables at Red Gum BBQ to rustic wedding accessories and benches at Poppy Culture, an abundance of Mornington Peninsula businesses know quality when they see it.

This treasure trove is also a popular go-to for interior designers, store merchandisers and stylists who have come to know that Quirky Collective is synonymous with statement pieces. Trinkets, curiosities, props; if you don’t know what you are looking for but you’ll know it when you see it, then this is the shop for you!

Whether you’re looking for something vintage, retro, industrial, eclectic or interesting, their stock is sure to surprise and delight.
